Call a few auditions,invite elite judges,declare attractive prizes and Boom!You have a reality show up for telecast.As reality shows are marching hand in hand with soap operas on TRP's;they have become a routine part of our lives.Reality shows cater to a larger section of the society.A family sits together to watch their favourite contestant perform and have discussions over dinner about who they prefer to win or who should be eliminated next.It is a means of bringing together various opinions and integrating them to form one trophy holder.As a platform that caters early success,these shows give direct entry into the 'Big Bad world of Bollywood' and brings fame to the aspiring youth of our country.An attractive package of fighting judges,hoping artists and some 'mirch-masala' lures a number of advertisers to promote their products.Voila!What a thoughtful way of minting money eh?
To conclude,whether these shows are scripted or not,still remains debatable,but the fact that they promote talent,spirit of healthy competition and brings together diverse cults cannot be avoided.
